Presumably having conducted some research about Freemasonry you have stumbled across our website, and most welcome you are. Suffice it to say Freemasonry is a fascinating institution which has stood the test of time, just how long we cannot be certain, but records indicate perhaps 500 years, or possibly longer, as the Regius Poem suggests freemasonry was brought to England by King Athelstan between 924 and 939 AD. However the first or 'Premier' Grand Lodge was not established until 1717, celebrating its tercentenary in 2017. Therefore The Lodge of Harmony, established in 1785, is one of the oldest and most prestigious Lodges under our constitution.
